The President Resource Centre

The resource centre hosts the President Library and the President Digital Centre. It is the Primary source of reference and research for students during their time with us. The Centre opens at 8:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays except during exams season when the Centre extends its hours.

The President Resource centre contains all the reference materials and books that concern your subjects as well as ancillary research topics that you may needs. The digital library of the Digital Centre complements the traditional research methods with CD ROM references and online journals and reference sites.

Borrowing is not permitted at the Centre but students are allowed to photocopy materials for academic purposes. This however must be done with the aid of the library assistant. The library assistant will also assist and provide basic consultation on research methods and information needed by students.

The Resource centre like the rest of the college is WIFI enabled and it has reference computers for students.  Students are encouraged to de their extra reading and preparations for class at the Centre. The centre is also equipped for students who are preparing for entrance examinations at blue chip universities and First Year University with many references to help them.

The Science Laboratories

President boasts two state of the art science laboratories. The Ibn Sina Laboratory houses students for Biology and Chemistry and the Newton Laboratory houses students for Physics. Both Labs are fully equipped for students and all experiments are run on an individual basis with lecturers and lab assistants to develop students.

The laboratories are strictly for use only with an authorised supervisor but students many request the use of the lab for their own skills and knowledge development and a supervisor will be put supervise them.

The laboratories have panoramic views of the KL skyline with its infinity windows that give the students the impression of conducting experiments high above the beautiful cityscape. The Laboratory is fully furnished by the best brand in the business such as Pyrex, Rynalab, Polysol, Obbo, Mettler, Litebox, Mon, Kenavision, IEC, SEW, Willesco, Carlos, Bibby, Li Mon, Meiji, Hysil, Biby Sterilin, Azlon Dulabs, Elle, Bomex,  Willesco, Zeal,  Avantec, Stuart and so much more.

The Laboratory is fitted with high grade, high specification materials and safety features to ensure the students develop to the best of their abilities in a safe and secure manner.  The labs have been remarked to be the best labs for A Levels around by many visiting professors and academics.

The President Classrooms

The President Classrooms have been designed by IKEA interiors to give the best amount of comfort top students.  It is designed with the student’s lifestyle in mind to ensure that the surroundings are a habitat of creativity and empowerment.  The major classrooms are the Darwin, Acton, Denning and Berkely rooms. These rooms have been aesthetically designed to create a mood or culture of excellence.

All classes are equipped with multimedia presentation facilities and are WIFI enabled for laptops and high speed internet access. Students can coordinate with lecture presentations online or via Bluetooth or even a thumbdrives. Lectures are then recorded and podcasts of the lectures can be obtained at the Resource Center for Ipods, MP3/4 devices or even basic laptop playbacks. Some are in sound format and other in full view movie format.

The lecture halls are also customizable for lecturers to rearrange the class structure to create a more formal, interactive, or even fun environment. The lecturer has the option of literally structuring a class to suit the lesson objectives.

The Cerf Room [Computer Laboratory]

The Cerf Room is outfitted with the latest personal desktop computers in the market having Intel’s core 2 duo processors with a high capacity of memory and storage. The computers run on the latest Linux Ubuntu and Mandriva platforms.  All screens are a minimum 17 – 19 inch UWXGA for maximum brightness and ease of viewing.

TIBO ~the President Portal

The President portal provides students with their own individual customised portal for their needs. Each student is given an initial 1MB of storage, emails and a full academic interface which includes class times, lecture or study schedules, homework, exams and diagnostic times, syllabuses, notes, extra materials from lecturers, lecturer student chat facility, inter mails, administration queries, external research links, downloads for their subjects, social networks between students and our alumni at universities, attendance records, rankings in class and many other importable features.

Students are able to customize the portal in any manner they want and set up the portal according to their interest. The portals are encoded with a 128 bit encryption code to ensure maximum privacy and security.

The President portal is a student’s interface with academics at President 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is also a constant source of two way feedback and interaction between the teachers, management and students.

Study Rooms

President has many alcoves and study rooms for students to learn and revise privately or in small group sessions. These rooms have been designed to contain and provide the student with an insulated feeling of privacy to foster a better study environment.  They are fitted with some recreational facilities such as chess boards and other board games to take the students mind to rest for a while.
